In plain English
- The website does not submit or store the print-request form.
- It prepares an email draft on your device, which you choose whether to send.
- Files are attached manually in your email app or supplied through links.
- Your details are used only to answer the request and handle any hobby commission you agree.
- There are no advertising trackers, behavioural analytics or mailing lists.
Who is responsible
The Forge + Filament Workshop is an independent UK hobby workshop. Privacy questions can be sent to help@forgefilamentworkshop.uk.
How the form works
The form runs in your browser. It adapts to the selected enquiry type, validates the information you enter, shows a private preview and prepares an email addressed to help@forgefilamentworkshop.uk. Nothing is received by the workshop until you review and send that email.
Browsers cannot reliably add attachments to generated email drafts. You must attach model files, reference images and any licence evidence in your email app before sending, or include a working download link.
Information received when you send the email
The email may contain your name, email address, project details, requested completion date, finishing choices, maximum budget, fulfilment choice, model and permission declaration, links and—where Postage is selected—a delivery address. It may also include files that you attach manually.
This information is used to reply, assess the request, review printing permission, discuss availability and pricing, and handle any work that is later agreed.
Services involved
- Cloudflare provides the website, DNS, security and email routing.
- Google provides the private workshop inbox and the display fonts used by the main page.
- Your chosen file-hosting provider is involved if you include a Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, MyMiniFactory or similar link.
- Printify hosts the external merchandise Pop-Up Store. If you follow a merch link and place an order, checkout, payment processing, production, shipping and first-line support take place through Printify's platform. Forge + Filament Workshop may receive the order and payout information made available to the merchant of record through the Printify account.
- PayPal is involved only if you use the separate optional workshop-support link. The site does not receive card or bank details.
Personal information is not sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
How long email and project information is kept
- Enquiries that do not proceed: normally up to 12 months after the last contact.
- Files for declined or withdrawn enquiries: normally deleted within 90 days.
- Completed project correspondence and working files: normally up to 24 months.
Information may be kept longer where reasonably needed for an active dispute, security concern or legal requirement.
Cookies and tracking
The site does not intentionally use advertising cookies, behavioural analytics, advertising pixels or mailing-list tracking. On desktop devices, the custom coordinate cursor may store its most recent on-screen position in session storage so page transitions can resume cleanly; this is temporary to the browser session, identifies no person and is not transmitted to the workshop. A separate local-storage timestamp is used only to enforce the 30-second cooldown on the email-preparation button. Cloudflare may use mechanisms strictly necessary to deliver, secure and provide aggregate page-path reporting for the site.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct, delete or restrict personal information, or object to certain uses. Send requests to help@forgefilamentworkshop.uk.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office through the ICO website.
