Who is responsible
The Forge + Filament Workshop is an independent UK hobby workshop. Questions about privacy can be sent to help@forgefilamentworkshop.uk.
What information is used and why
When you email, the workshop may receive your name, email address, project details, dimensions, requested dates, attachments, filenames and any download links you include. This is used to reply, assess whether the project is suitable and handle any work you later agree.
Cloudflare may process ordinary technical information—such as your IP address, browser and requested pages—to deliver and protect the website.
The legal basis is taking steps at your request, carrying out an agreement with you, and the legitimate interest in operating the website securely and keeping enough correspondence to understand what was agreed.
How the enquiry form works
The form runs in your browser. Selecting Prepare enquiry email creates a draft addressed to help@forgefilamentworkshop.uk. The website itself does not receive the form contents or upload your files. Selected filenames are added to the draft only as a reminder; you attach and send the files yourself.
Services involved
- Cloudflare provides hosting, security, DNS and email routing.
- Google provides the workshop inbox and the display fonts used by the main page.
- Your chosen file-hosting provider is involved if you send a Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or similar link.
- PayPal is involved only if you choose the optional workshop-support link. The site does not receive card or bank details.
These providers may operate internationally and handle information under their own privacy arrangements. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to prevent abuse or protect legal rights.
How long information is kept
- Enquiries that do not proceed: normally up to 12 months after the last contact.
- Files for declined or withdrawn enquiries: normally deleted within 90 days.
- Completed project correspondence and working files: normally up to 24 months.
Information may be kept longer only where reasonably needed for an active dispute, security concern or legal requirement.
Cookies and tracking
The site does not intentionally use advertising cookies, behavioural analytics, advertising pixels or mailing-list tracking. The coordinate cursor does not store information in local storage or session storage. Your browser may cache normal website files, and Cloudflare may use mechanisms strictly necessary to deliver and secure the site.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to see your personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict its use or object to certain uses. Send requests to help@forgefilamentworkshop.uk. Reasonable information may be requested to confirm your identity.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Guidance is available on the ICO website.
